If you are planning to spend additional days in El Salvador, we recommend you visit some of these great spots. From hiking to beaches, you'll always find a variety of activities to fill your day!

LAGO DE COATEPEQUE - A volcanic lake (roughly 1 to 1.5 hours by car) ideal for swimming, kayaking, boat rides, lakeside dining, and enjoying panoramic views in a relaxed setting. Day passes can be purchased at Cardedeu for access to the property and amenities or can go to restaurants around the lake.

BEACH (EL TUNCO | EL ZONTE | MIZATA) - El Tunco is a lively beach town known for great surf, ocean sunsets, and laid-back coastal energy. El Zonte is a charming surf village known for its friendly community, consistent surf, and easygoing vibe. Mizata offers a quieter coastal retreat with uncrowded beaches, consistent waves, and a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere.

EL BOQUERON NATIONAL PARK - This is a park located in the crater of the San Salvador volcano. You can also enjoy great views of the city from the multiple restaurants along the top of the San Salvador volcano.

SANTA ANA VOLCANO HIKE - If you're feeling adventurous, we recommend hiking the Santa Ana volcano. Once you reach the top, you'll find the green lagoon that has formed in the crater. You'll also have amazing views of volcan de Izalco, Lago de Coatepeque and miles of Salvadorian land.

CENTRO HISTORICO DE SAN SALVADOR - Check out the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace, and National Theater.

ATACO | APANECA - Ataco is a picturesque mountain town known for its vibrant murals, cobblestone streets, and cozy coffee shops. Apaneca is known for coffee plantations and outdoor adventure parks (e.g., Cafe Albania labyrinth, rainbow slide, and zip-lining).

TAMANIQUE WATERFALL - This is a beautiful waterfall that you can visit as a day activity. Plan to spend at least half a day to visit (driving and walking required).
